Mission Statement

The Delaware Information and Analysis Center (DIAC) serves as Delaware's designated "fusion center."  The DIAC takes an "all crimes, all hazards" approach to public safety and includes other disciplines or stakeholders in the information sharing environment within Delaware.  The concept of a fusion center is the intake of information from multiple sources, determine their validity and relevancy, then analyze, collate, and organize this information into useful and many types of relevant analytical products for dissemination to Delaware stakeholders, that have a right and need to know this information, for public safety.

Providing essential visibility-and training

With the cooperation of the law enforcement community, the DIAC provides comprehensive intelligence products that give public safety officials a vital regional picture of trends and patterns relating to terrorist operations and other criminal activities.   We also-

  • Provide training to public and private DIAC member agencies-including the FBI and DHS

Protecting critical infrastructure

Beyond helping to protect the community, the DIAC helps its members prepare for incidents of terrorism in order to protect critical infrastructure through
heightened vigilance.  We accomplish this by-

  • Collecting, compiling and analyzing trends to assess threats
  • Disseminating advisories, bulletins and alerts
  • Promoting a robust information sharing environment among all stakeholders

Supporting our national fusion center network

As such, we centralize the intake, analysis, fusion, synthesis, and dissemination of criminal and homeland security intelligence throughout the Delaware counties.
